What is the platform transaction fee?
The platform fee is a small percentage charged on each sale, on top of your regular payment processing fees. This is how PyroApex earns revenue even on the Free tier. Higher subscription tiers get lower transaction rates, so as your sales grow, upgrading saves you money.
Can I start for free and upgrade later?
Absolutely. The Free tier includes full core commerce features — product catalog, storefront, checkout, shipping, and tax collection. Start selling immediately with no credit card required. Upgrade any time to unlock more features and lower transaction fees.
What payment processing fees apply?
PyroApex charges a platform fee (0.5%–2.5% depending on your tier). ValorPayTech charges its own card processing rate under the merchant agreement. The platform fee and processing fee are independent.
Is there a contract or commitment?
No long-term contracts. Monthly plans can be canceled any time. The Free tier has no monthly cost at all — you only pay the platform transaction fee when you make sales. Perfect for seasonal businesses.
What happens during the off-season?
On the Free tier, you pay nothing when you're not selling. On paid tiers, you can downgrade to Free during the off-season and upgrade again before your selling season starts. Your data and settings are preserved.
How is PyroApex different from Shopify or BigCommerce?
PyroApex is purpose-built for fireworks businesses. It includes industry-specific features like age verification, state legality checks, firework carrier shipping, wholesale/retail in one platform, case-pack-unit inventory, and counter sales. What do the status labels mean?
'Built' means available today. 'Partial' means usable pieces are live but the full workflow is not complete. 'Coming Soon' features are actively in development. 'Planned' features are on the roadmap and will be built as the platform grows.

Custom domains are available on the Professional and Enterprise tiers. Free and Starter tiers use a PyroApex subdomain (yourstore.pyroapex.pro).
